Blue Flame

An animal not really yours
wolf pawing
I thought she sent you
she sent me
what it gnaws to be gone.

We were mutilating
expensive food
tell me what’s under under under
answer that smile
me I’m fresh kill.

No Surrogate

Double the speed limit
on the Alameda
years spent
an owlet
calling all over town.

The sun starts its tilt
just past our birthday
umbilical, tug of war
but the word egg
is more beautiful in Italian.

    In dreams she goes
    wild haired
    passes me a Marlboro Red
    says honey -

A Family

The monster I loved
is gone.
My father and I are trying to figure out
what’s wrong with my radiator fan
all else spinning.
