Tear Sponsor CS by Tear Sponsor

2023, self-released

Tear Sponsor is Isabella Pittman (a.k.a. Bella Hayes) and Zack Kircher, longtime friends who met on the job at Baltimore’s Charles Theater. They have been working together as Tear Sponsor since 2021.

On this self-titled cassette—their first proper release—Tear Sponsor strike a balance between multiple eras of synth punk, electro and noise, Pittman’s confrontational schoolyard chanting undergirded by lumbering, bass-driven rhythms and sweeps of noise and arpeggiated synth. It’s a raw collection of songs that still finds moments of distorted beauty in the grime.

Recorded and Mixed by Matt Redenbo
Mastered by James Plotkin
Tapes dubbed by Jordan Romero
