THE MAKING OF KUBRICK’S 2001, by Jerome Agel

Dear loyal members of r/thekubricksociety,

If I may…I’ve been RACKING my brain for a good while to find this SPECIFIC image of the master. And I can’t say I lucked out so far - the pic isn’t ANYWWWHERE I know on the net… and I should find it in order to post a memory of a dream I had of the master’s recent passing.

I know two things: it is from the book THE MAKING OF KUBRICK’S 2001, BY JEROME AGEL. It’s in the photo section - a picture of the master on his centrifuge set. Apparently it is one of three such images. I’m looking for the one in which the master is ALONE and staring STRAIGHT into the camera. Anyone who has this book, can you please scan this image for me?

If you provide it, I can post a memory of this dream that is so fascinating, so out of touch with reality - its surrealism may even be second only to the film itself. I tell you, it’s the GOOD shit.

Not that I’m biased!

edit1: judging from the comments of one guy below, there are only two such images in the book…and neither appears to be the one I’m looking for. Maybe it came from a DIFFERENT book?

edit2: again, in the image he’s all by himself, unlike the other two in the same set. His face DOMINATES the frame. That’s the one I need, cuz that’s the one that appeared in my dreams.

edit3: for those who are WORRIED that scanning the image would break the spine of the book — I understand… And huge thanks to those who suggested I should go check the Practical Effects Group, which seems to have TONS of archival pics of the master.

edit4 - and hopefully last: for those who ask…nope. Amazon is out of question. (a WHOPPING $3,000!!) Joined the Practical effects group. Membership pending. But I’m not going to scroll and scroll once I get in. I’ll repost everything I posted above and see if that will help.

edit5: I tried to contact Mr. Agel HIMSELF but he kindly refused to take part in any of this nonsense.” He KINDLY asked me not to contact him again. What can I say? Can’t BLAME a brother for trying…or can YOU?

edit6: I’m having a hard time falling asleep lately, WORRIED that IF I do - fall asleep - I’ll keep having the same dream OVER and OVER. Or worse, that I’ll forget that one GOOD dream I had of the master. For each day I can’t find the image I’m looking for, the further I drift away from my reality - and HIS.

edit7: I know I don’t make sense anymore but not a day goes by without me OBSESSING over that picture. I can’t think of anything else. I can’t move on, can’t move past this. I’m sorry… I can’t laugh, I can’t eat, I can’t enjoy any WAKING moment I have…long story short, I really do need YOUR help.

edit8: It seems the comments section came to a head. It seems I’ll have to put everything I own on sale to purchase a copy of the book…and see it for myself. Those who say I’m delusional, that such a picture DON’T exist and I should let it go, I’m sorry to say but yyou are the ones that need SERUOUS help.

edit9: I HATE y’all — there, I said it. I REGRET the day I signed up to this group. I REGRET the day I had the dream and thought it a GOOD idea to consult the so-called experts in this group. Y’all are nothing but a bunch of imposters. A bunch of NO-GOOD posers.

edit10: So it seems this is IT…this is the last y’all hear from me…not that I think you CARE anyhow…but still. I’m DELETING my account. My hunt won’t STOP. One day I’ll prove y’all WRONG.

I’ll be looking forward to seeing YOUR faces when the day comes…

Your humble new (OLD) member,
@barrylyndon__8943
