James Has A Large Rabbit

James has a large rabbit that is
allowed to go with him on airplanes.
The rabbit is shot during a
  jurisdictional dispute.
The new rabbit walks upright but is more
  circumspect.
“Cock-a-doodle-doo,”
  he says with a twinkle.
“Why don’t you ever talk about the
  woods?”, we ask.
Trained as a logician, eco-systems
  are above his pay-grade.
But he will say, That’s all folks!”
  to humor James.

At The Mammal School

Sweet to work at the
  mammal school but
forbidden to write about heightened
  mammal communal senses or
evolution of frontal lobe
  in student mammals.
We watch mammals groom each other
  and lick each others’ genitalia
clean in
  cross-individual arousal lesson,
wishing our minds would feel feelings
  with fellow experimentors
but forbidden to feel
  communal feelings of mammals.

Some Batteries

One battery pumps water
up high then lets it flow down.
One battery looks like sand
  and will not combust.
One battery touches rock to air
  as of old.
Sign PETROL high above highway
guides us to the battery center.
Potatoes are show batteries.
The ionosphere is a leaky battery.
You and I are battery-like.
Our slaves dig rocks to feed the battery.
She who would discover the future battery
must be clear of heart and pure of mind.
