Poetry by Carson Jordan

Rock My Laurels

put your breath back
it’s perfectly good
enough no big
complaints
close but no cigar
god makes me a vessel
for no trust no dents
holy tights
and a super skirt

take care in summer
allow your
cheap ass plastic chair
to punch out your thigh
like cookie cutter
in a moment still

as long as we’re kissing
the taste of heaven closes
joy is a bad advisor
my king of the barnyard,
I have a perfect
condition
an ungrateful heart
